MATCH SCHEDULES
When are the matches? How did you finish (better yet, how did your shooting buddy finish?)… Find the answers here.
WE ARE AWARE THERE HAVE BEEN PROBLEMS DISPLAYING MATCH STATS...this is a formatting problem related to moving all the files to a new server. We are working to correct these errors. If you see a link that doesn’t work, or something that displays in correctly please let us know by email at rangemaster@crpcactionpistol.org .
RIFLE MATCH SCHEDULE There is currently no Rifle Match Schedule for 2009; we need a Program Coordinator to plan and administer this shooting discipline. If you are interested in volunteering for this position please contact President Jeff Spendlove or Rangemaster Gregg Smith to discuss the details.
BLACK POWDER MATCH SCHEDULE Our Black Powder group meets (and shoots) the second Saturday of the month, March thru October. The matches start in mid-morning. Please contact Arnold Cork for more information at ac1941@charter.net
.22 ACTION PISTOL MATCH - SUNDAY, JAN 17TH! We’re trying something new this winter! A .22 Action Pistol Match will be held Sunday, February 20th in the Indoor Range: Registration/Setup 11:00AM Safety Briefing 11:45AM Match starts 12:00 NOON
Just about any common .22LR pistol (revolver or semi-auto) can play; NO HOLSTERS or mag pouches required, as all stages will be started from “low ready” or with the pistol on a table.
Bring at least two (2) magazines and 100 rounds of .22 ammo. PLEASE, NO HYPER-VELOCITY AMMO (i.e. CCI Stinger). Match fee is $10 for all participants…
Cardboard, paper and some reactive targets will be used (no steel for obvious reasons). This is NOT a bullseye match, but Action Pistol with rimfire guns. While optics are allowed, they may not be competing with iron-sighted guns.
You don’t need an ultra-precise target pistol, so an expensive (like a S&W Model 41) won’t give you an advantage… dig out those Ruger Mk II;s, Walther P22’s and S&W 422’s and come have some fun!
We may have some food available for participants (watch this space for more info).
Contact Gregg Smith (Rangemaster@charter.net) for more info...
ACTION PISTOL MATCH SCHEDULE—changed for 2009-2010
You should be at the range AT LEAST 45 minutes before match time to help set up, sign in and hear the briefing so we can start shooting at the appointed time.
Action Pistol Matches are held the first Sunday of the month, with the exception November, when the match is a NIGHT MATCHES; these are held the first Saturday in March and November.
Scheduled Action Pistol Matches for the 2009-2010 club year are:
Sunday, May 3—Standard match—10AM Sunday, June 7 DOUBLE MATCH Sunday, July 5 DOUBLE MATCH Sunday, August 2 DOUBLE MATCH Sunday, September 6 DOUBLE MATCH Sunday, October 4 DOUBLE MATCH SATURDAY, Nov 21st NIGHT MATCH 6PM
DOUBLE MATCH days consist of two separate matches—a morning match starting at 9AM and an afternoon match starting at 1PM. Lunch will be available in between matches at the range (more to follow).
SPECIAL PISTOL MATCHES We have a few special pistol matches in our Action Pistol Program that bear further explanation:
The Backup Gun Match will give the competitor the opportunity to engage targets with a small backup pistol as well as their regular sidearm; the overall dimensions are extremely limited and must fit in a box that will be at the match. The box dimensions are 1.375” deep x 5.00” tall x 6.750” wide. Most 5-shot revolvers and some semi-autos (i.e., Walther PPK,SIG P230, Kel-Tec .32/.380) qualify. If you do not have such a pistol a loaner (and ammo) will be provided per CRPC rules. See the Rangemaster page for more details…
The Steel Challenge replaces the October Concealed Carry Match we had for many years; this change was made because all normal Street Class stages are now concealed carry. The Steel Challenge will be an all-steel match guaranteed to please folks that love reactive targets. Round count is estimated at 75-90.
The Night Matches start the shooting fun at 6PM on a SATURDAY EVENING. These matches require the shooter to engage targets in low-light (or no-light) scenarios with the aid of a flashlight or other artificial illumination as provided in some stages. Registration for the Night Matches will CLOSE AT 5:30PM; the range staff has the ability to decline entries after that time. We currently hold one night match in November. Show up at 4:30 to assist with setup, please...
On occasion we offer a COMBAT SHOTGUN MATCH the morning after the Night Matches—check the schedule and Forum for more details.
Registration/setup for double match days starts at 8AM for the morning match & 12:30 PM for the afternoon match. Mandatory safety briefing prior to the match...
